Be the Best That You Can Be

  • Timing is everything! It doesn't matter what dance you are doing – if you are off time, it looks terrible.

  • Dance with many different people of all skill levels. You will be a stronger dancer if you learn to lead (or follow) anyone.

  • Try to learn all of the dances, not just the several that interest you. Become a well-rounded dancer and see how your overall dancing improves.

  • Maintain a strong dance frame. This helps the guy to lead and the girl to follow.

    Perfect Practice Makes
    Perfect Dancing

  • Practicing helps you to solidify the steps in your mind and rapidly improves your dancing. Try to practice at least twice a week.

  • The best and fastest way to develop your skill is to learn and practice routines. Stick with practicing routines until you master them.

  • Practice your steps without a partner. Learn to control your own body and not to rely upon anybody else.

  • How-to's of Social Dance

  • Ladies, it is perfectly acceptable to ask a guy for a dance.

  • Save the steps you are unsure of for practice time rather than social dancing.

  • Grab a breath mint before hitting the floor.

  • Mingle. Dance with everyone and make some new friends while you are at it.

  • Above all, enjoy yourself!
